Stroke (paralysis of the whole body, paralysis of the hands and feet, speech difficulty, coma, confusion, facial nerve palsy), high blood pressure, palpitations, mental anxiety, acute and chronic convulsions in children, autonomic nervous system disorder, and loss of consciousness.

How to use

(Pills) 1. Adults normally take 1 pill per dose. Children aged 8–15 take 2/3 of a pill, ages 5–7 half a pill, ages 2–4 one third of a pill, and under 1 year a quarter of a pill, once or twice a day, chewed or dissolved in warm water. (Liquid) (Suspension) 2-1. Adults normally take 1 bottle (one dose) per dose. Children aged 8–15 take 2/3 of a bottle (2/3 of the adult dose), ages 5–7 half a bottle (half the adult dose), ages 2–4 one third of a bottle (one third of the adult dose), and under 1 year a quarter of a bottle (a quarter of the adult dose), once or twice a day. 2-2. Adults normally take 30 mL per dose. Children aged 8–15 take 20 mL, ages 5–7 take 15 mL, ages 2–4 take 10 mL, and under 1 year 7.5 mL, once or twice a day.

Before you use it

1. Warning If taking this medicine to lower blood pressure, take it under the direction of a professional. 2. The following people should consult a doctor, oriental medicine doctor, dentist, pharmacist or herbal pharmacist before taking this medicine. 1) People with high blood pressure 2) People with heart or kidney problems 3) People with oedema (swelling) 4) Elderly people (bodily functions are generally reduced in the elderly, so take care — for example by reducing the dose) 5) People under a doctor's care (people being given other medicines) 6) People with a markedly weak stomach (loss of appetite, stomach discomfort, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea and the like may occur) 7) People with loss of appetite, nausea or vomiting (symptoms may worsen) 3. Do not give this medicine to the following patients. This medicine contains lactose, so it must not be given to patients with hereditary problems such as galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption. 4. In the following cases, stop taking this medicine immediately and consult a doctor, oriental medicine doctor, dentist, pharmacist or herbal pharmacist. Bring this leaflet with you if possible. 1) If the following occur while taking this medicine (1) Pseudoaldosteronism: reduced urine output, swelling of the face, hands and feet, heavy eyelids, stiff hands, raised blood pressure, headache and the like. (Preparations containing 1 g or more of liquorice as the maximum daily amount can cause pseudoaldosteronism — low blood potassium, raised blood pressure, retention of sodium and body fluid, oedema, weight gain — when taken continuously over a long period, so monitor carefully (measuring serum potassium) and stop taking it if anything abnormal is found.) (2) Myopathy: myopathy can occur as a result of low blood potassium, so monitor carefully and stop taking it if weakness, cramping of the limbs, paralysis or other abnormality is found. (3) Skin: rash, redness, hives, itching and the like (4) Digestive system: loss of appetite, stomach discomfort, nausea, diarrhoea and the like 2) If symptoms do not improve after several days of taking it 5. Other points to note when taking this medicine 1) Consult a doctor, oriental medicine doctor, dentist, pharmacist or herbal pharmacist before taking it continuously over a long period. 2) Follow the stated directions and dosage. 3) Take care when using it together with potassium-containing preparations, liquorice-containing preparations, preparations containing glycyrrhizic acid or its salts, loop diuretics (furosemide, ethacrynic acid) or thiazide diuretics (trichlormethiazide), as pseudoaldosteronism or low blood potassium make myopathy more likely. 4) There is a clinical report that an efficacy rate of 66.7% or higher was seen for facial paralysis, mental anxiety, paralysis of the hands and feet, and speech difficulty. 5) According to a comparative clinical trial of the original and modified formulations of Woohwang Chungsimwon, in patients confirmed by brain MRI or brain CT to have had a stroke and who were in a stable phase, the original formulation was found significantly more effective than the modified one for movement disorder and facial paralysis; however, no significant difference between the two was confirmed for speech difficulty or impaired consciousness, so no consistent difference in effect by stroke symptom was seen, and a clinical report states that neither preparation could be shown to be superior for symptoms of high blood pressure such as high blood pressure itself, headache, a heavy head and dizziness. 6) Difficulty breathing was removed from the indications because efficacy for it was not demonstrated. 7) When taking it together with other herbal preparations, take care that the herbal ingredients do not overlap. 6. Storage 1) Store away from direct sunlight in a cool place with as little moisture as possible (always close it tightly after use). 2) Keep out of reach of children. 3) Taking a medicine out of its original container and keeping it in another container can lead to accidents from misuse or to loss of quality, so keep it in its original container and close it tightly.
