Approved only for: Bacterial skin infections — this is an antibiotic, not a general wound cream.
- Full approved wording
- Used for impetigo, infectious eczematoid dermatitis, acne vulgaris, folliculitis, boils and furunculosis, hidradenitis suppurativa, impetiginous eczema caused by staphylococcus, streptococcus, corynebacterium or clostridium, and for secondary infection of burns, wounds, sutured wounds and skin-graft sites.
- How to use
- Clean the affected area, then apply an appropriate amount directly once or twice a day, or spread it on sterile gauze and apply. Limit use to about one week. Do not apply thickly.
- Before you use it
- Do not use if you are hypersensitive to this medicine, or if the infection is caused by non-susceptible bacteria (especially Pseudomonas aeruginosa). Before use, consult a doctor or pharmacist if you are pregnant, may be pregnant, breastfeeding, or if it is for a premature or newborn baby. Because it is highly absorbed through the skin, do not use it for a long period. Not for ophthalmic use. Do not apply to the eyes, eyelids or other inner areas of the face.
- Possible side effects
- Stop use immediately and consult a doctor or pharmacist if you notice signs of sensitisation (itching, redness, swelling, papules, small blisters), a temporary burning sensation, occasional rash, mild pain or irritation, or pain when applied to severe leg ulcers.
- Storage
- Store at room temperature. Keep out of reach of children.
